The Coen brothers are going to make True Grit, a movie-adaptation of a novel by Charles Protis. The first movie came out in 1969 and starred John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn: a role for which Wayne was awarded an Academy Award.
The Coen brothers are set to tackle the story and Jeff Bridges has confirmed to Collider that he’s going to be Rooster Cogburn in this newest treatment of the story.
Jeff ‘The Dude” Bridges is going to paly Rooster Cogburn. Incredible. I was introduced to True Grit when I was young and have always admired how much of a badass both Rooster and John Wayne are. It seems appropriate that Bridges will be taking on this role.
